Mike Angelina, Chief Actuary & Chief Risk Officer, made a presentation on Enterprise Risk Management and participated on a panel covering the topic of Reinsurance Reserving at last week’s Casualty Actuarial Society’s “Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar” held in San Diego, California.

The Enterprise Risk Management presentation covered best practices and diagnostic tools for assessing the risks underlying the reserving process and how these can be a strategic asset to your company. Prudent enterprise risk management requires best practices in the assessment of the interplay of the timing of the risk of inadequate pricing, inadequate reinsurance coverage, and the ultimate realization of reserve deficiencies, all of which can impact strategic planning when things do not go as expected.
