Emily Canelo
Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Global Reinsurance
Ms. Canelo is a transactional reinsurance attorney with 20 years experience covering a wide variety of legal, regulatory and reinsurance issues associated with treaty, facultative and finite reinsurance. Ms. Canelo comes to Endurance from Converium Reinsurance (North America), where she was most recently Senior Vice President, with responsibility for establishing contract policy and internal guidelines across all underwriting divisions and monitoring legal and related industry issues. Prior to that, Ms. Canelo served as a Vice President at Swiss Re America and was a Vice President and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Guy Carpenter & Company. Ms. Canelo has published a number of articles in various legal and trade publications, and has been a featured speaker at industry conferences. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Washington, D.C. and is a member of the American Bar Association and state and county bar associations. She holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from Antioch School of Law.
