Luke Roden
Property Treaty Underwriting Manager
Luke has over 15 years experience in treaty reinsurance. He began his career writing US property and liability business in London with CNA Re, including six months working for the US operation in Chicago.
Moving to Bermuda in 1996, on behalf of LaSalle Re, he specialised in property catastrophe business, and subsequently, in international property business. In 2001, he helped set up a White Mountains Insurance Group company in Dublin (WMUL), advising Folksamerica USA on an Worldwide (ex-USA) non-marine XL portfolio. He joined Endurance Specialty in Bermuda in 2002, working as an international property catastrophe underwriter. He later transferred to Endurance's UK subsidiary- Endurance Worldwide Insurance Ltd where he manages the property treaty team.
As well as overseeing his colleagues’ territories, he is also responsible for the markets of UK, Ireland, Germany, Japan, China, Central and South America, with additional responsibility for global property programmes.
