Mark Thorogood
Casualty Treaty Underwriting Manager
Before joining Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited in January 2006, Mark was Vice President, Casualty Underwriter at Alea London Limited. He joined Alea in 1999 and underwrote a varied book of international and US-based casualty treaty business.
Mark also has experience in writing a direct insurance book of business; he was asked in 2004 to set up and manage a portfolio of UK personal lines business distributed through retail agents.
Prior to joining Alea, Mark was Assistant Underwriter in Casualty Treaty team at Zurich Re (London) Limited, again writing motor, general casualty and professional lines business for US and international-based cedants. Mark holds a BA (Hons) in Economics (Business Economics) and is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
At Endurance, Mark manages the casualty treaty team which writes working layer liability reinsurance emanating from exposures outside of the US, but focusing predominantly on UK, Ireland, Continental Europe, Australasia and South Africa.
